To put it simply, a project is a set of measures you take to deliver a specific outcome. Esteamate was created to make this process as smooth as possible, while providing you with the best tools for assessing your Project Performance.
3. Each project has to be independently priced based on your preferences and the expected amount of work. First of all, select a Currency. Next, choose the preferable pricing model. You have three options:
a. Fixed
In the Fixed price, the payment doesn’t depend on the amount of resources or time expended. However, you need to indicate an Hourly rate anyway. Set an hourly rate so that you can see in the future whether your quote is correct. If you see that you have exceeded your estimated time for this project, your real hourly rate will drop. You can then consider whether it is still worth your effort.
This model is recommended for those taking their first steps in project management. By working on a fixed price and hourly rate simultaneously, you learn how to estimate projects.
b. Time & Material
Enter an hourly rate for activities performed within a single project. This model refers to a type of contract in which the client agrees to pay the contractor for the time and materials spent during the billing period. However, in this case, you must include the cost of materials in your hourly rate. The total amount payable is calculated based on the time report.
Important tipThis model is recommended for projects difficult to estimate or when it is likely that the project requirements will change.
c. Internal
Esteamate was created to help you track and estimate commercial projects, but that doesn't mean you can't use it for private or in-house stuff. That’s why in the Internal model there is no need to provide a rate. Remember that you can’t start a project without a client, but you can quickly add a new client – yourself – by clicking Add Client + above the client search bar.
4. Rounding
After stopping the task, round the timing to the nearest 15, or 30 minutes. You can also choose not to round up your timings at all! Your time is precious. Treasure it.
5. To diversify your time entries, you can add Tags.
