Estimations are the beginning of every exciting adventure

Estimations are the beginning of every exciting adventure, which (and here's the WARNING!) usually ends in failure. Disappointed?! That's just the reality.

Submitting offers is like catching 10 cm fish with a net whose mesh diameter is about the same size. There’s no solution for that. You just have to prepare them and send them out. The question is, how much time are you willing to spend preparing them? We used to break it down in Excel, then put it together in Adobe Illustrator, and now you have ESTEAMATE.

Why should you do it in ESTEAMATE, and what will it mean for you?

Simply put, it means much shorter preparation time. From now on, with ESTEAMATE’s Estimations module, you can handle a medium-sized project offer in just a few minutes, generating a sleek PDF with your logo, your company details, and a mood shot of the client's products. BANG! Done.

Before you start the estimate, read the brief/requirements from the client a few times and make sure there is no room for different interpretations. How to recognize this? You’ll learn in Sounds the same, means something different

Once you define your hourly rate, as we advised in Establishing hourly rate: how to do that properly? Remember about diversification detailing everything you’ll be working on to deliver the quoted project. Do it as thoroughly as possible!

Why?

It will be easier for you to defend your quote in front of the client. This way, your client will see the labor and time effort involved in the project and will treat you as specialists with experience who have project knowledge.
Imagine your client accepting your quote, you've written the estimate in detail, and then magic happens in ESTEAMATE!

Important tip

With one click, you can convert your quote into a Kanban board, and the tasks from the estimate become your project tasks ready to be launched. The progress bar will show the distance from your estimate to actual time, and the skills will become tags.

You can learn more about this in the Kanban manual

Remember!

Don't stop sending offers. It’s part of your business life! We won’t help you in preparing them, but we’ll save you a lot of time doing so! You deserve the best!
